Mission
To develop, promote, and sustain a competitive adult lacrosse club that embodies the spirit and heritage of the U.S. Virgin Islands while fostering excellence, sportsmanship, and international lacrosse engagement.
Goals and Objectives
- Establish a structured, sustainable adult club team with a clear organizational framework and governance.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a core membership at a skill level comparable to MCLA programs.
- Cultivate a year-round competitive schedule incorporating local, national, and international events.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, athlete conduct, and representation on and off the field.
- Build foundations for future youth and developmental lacrosse initiatives aligned with USVI Lacrosse’s long-term vision.
- Secure financial sustainability through nonprofit status, fundraising, and strategic partnerships in future phases.
Leadership and Management
- The club will operate as a nonprofit entity under USVILA governance.
- A Club Steering Committee will be established, including roles such as President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Coaches Representative.
- Operational subcommittees may be formed for areas like recruitment, events, and fundraising.
- Leadership will be volunteer-based, leveraging committed community and board members.
Communication and Technology
- Existing USVI Lacrosse platforms for communication and coordination (e.g., email distribution lists, social media, messaging apps) will be utilized.
- Regular meetings and updates will be scheduled year-round.
Season and Competition
- The club will maintain a year-round playing and training schedule, including participation in regional, national, and international tournaments.
- Competition rules and team philosophy will align with governing standards and World Lacrosse regulations where applicable.
Membership and Eligibility
- Open to adults aged 18 and above, with playing level targeted to MCLA-equivalent standards.
- Membership will welcome players from diverse backgrounds, reflecting USVI Lacrosse heritage inclusively.
- Expected membership size is approximately 50 active players each season.
- Commitment to team values of professionalism, respect, and positive representation is required.
- Membership criteria, dues, and application procedures will be formalized in the club bylaws.
How to Join
- Prospective members will apply via a standardized process administered by the Club Steering Committee.
- Recruitment efforts will include community outreach, tryouts, and informational sessions.
- Clear communication of expectations and club values will be provided during onboarding.
- Membership will be reviewed annually for renewal based on participation and conduct.
