Executive Council | National Teams Leadership

The USVI National Team Executive Council provides the meeting structure, environment and opportunity for program leaders to collaborate and deliberate on the most important matters facing the National Teams as they prepare to compete on the international stage. The Council ensures an effective framework for sound governance, strategic decision-making, and operational excellence. Based on global best practices for remote executive meetings in sports organizations, this detailed structure provides a robust foundation for the Council's operations.

The objective is to achieve maximum efficiency, transparency, and accountability while maintaining the flexibility needed for effective sports governance while addressing the unique needs of a national lacrosse program, positioning the organization for sustainable growth and international competitiveness.

The Council is organized and staffed accordingly:

Chairman:

  • Director, National Teams Program
  • Convenes and prepares agenda
  • Strategic oversight and directs Council
  • External stakeholder communication
  • Final decision authority in tie voting situations

Council Members:

  • Men's Team Head Coach
  • Women's Team Head Coach
  • Men's Team General Manager
  • Women's Team General Manager
  • Medical Director
  • Men's Player Representative
  • Women's Player Representative
  • Executive Director - USVILA (Ex Officio)

 The Executive Council will convene ten times annually, exceeding the minimum requirement of eight meetings and ensuring comprehensive oversight of the National Teams Program. The schedule balances regular operational meetings with strategic planning sessions.

 Regular Monthly Meeting:

  • Day: Third Wednesday of each month (except December and August)
  • Time: 8:00 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time)
  • Duration: 1.5 - 2.5 hours
  • Format: Remote via secure video conferencing platform
